The Equus engineers had the enviable task of setting a new design standard for an entire line of vehicles. Starting with the distinctive front grille, deliberate lines continue from the hood through the body to show off the staggered-width 19-inch multi-spoke wheels. Equus has been engineered from the ground up. The 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels with staggered-width tires in front and not only give the Equus a formidable look, but ensure superior handling.
The View From Above And More
For added visibility, safety and security, Equus offers a Multi-view Camera System featuring four cameras that provide a 360-degree view around the vehicle. Initially, the system offers an aerial view. Front, rearand side camera views can also be selected. All views are displayed on the central in-dash navigation screen at low parking speeds. At higher speeds the view switches to navigation mode.
Advanced HID Headlights
Stylish LED turn-signal indicators frame the front High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights. The Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS)turns with the vehicle's steering angle so that upcoming curves and intersections receive illumination. The sophisticated auto-leveling headlights also keep light parallel to the road surface regardless of vehicle load. The result is that the driver enjoys light coverage at all times.

Front And Rear Parking Assistance System With Rear Cross-traffic Alert
The Front and Rear Parking Assistance System uses the rearview camera and a simple, superimposed graphic with parking guidelines todirect the driver into even the tightest parking spots. Front and rear parking sensors offer an extra line of protection in case you get too close to another car or object. Rear Cross-traffic Alert detects vehicles that cross therearward path of the Equus and provides both an audio and visual alert when an obstruction is detected.
Steering Wheel
The power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel with Integrated Memory System (IMS) remembers each nuance of your and another driver'spreferences. Trimmed in premium wood, the leather-wrapped steering wheel is heated for those chilly mornings, and the entire steering column automatically moves in and out of the way to make getting in and out of the driver seat even easier.
Driver Information And Navigation System
The 9.2-inch display screen is the Driver Information System(DIS) and navigation interface. The high-pressure die-cast engine block is entirelyaluminum. A Tuned Intake System (TIS) maximizes power, while Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) improves both low-end torque and high-endhorsepower. 8-speed Automatic Transmission

Nine Airbags
Equus has more standard airbags than the Lexus LS 460 or the BMW 750i. Nine total. Two advanced dual front airbags; a driver's knee airbag;two front and two rear seat-mounted side-impact airbags; and two roof-mountedside-curtain airbags for front- and rear-seat passengers.
Unibody Frame
An advanced steel unibody with energy-dispersing crumplezones forms the core of the Equus passive-safety system. The reinforced steelframe enhances safety and handling by creating a more rigid and lightweight body structure. Crash-durable adhesives in critical areas increase dynamictorsional rigidity, enabling better ride and handling.
Vehicle Stability Management (VSM)System
VSM optimizes the function of all active and passive safety features. VSM incorporates Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction ControlSystem (TCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and a Lane Departure Warning (LDW). The comprehensive Vehicle Stability Management system links and prepares all safety systems in potential collision situations. This fully integrated system alsoincorporates the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Smart Cruise Control (SCC),seatbelt tensioning system, instrument panel warning lights and alerts for Lane Departure Warning.
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
Lane Departure Warning is designed to alert drivers ofunintended lane changes. Audible, visual and haptic warnings are triggered tore store the driver's attention in cases where the car drifts or changes lane swithout using a turn signal.
Smart Cruise Control (SCC) With Stop/ Start Functionality
SCC is designed to detect vehicles within a driver-specified distance, and automatically maintains a consistent following distance. Operating like your normal cruise control when no other vehicles are near,radar judges the distance and speed of vehicles in front of you, and accelerates or brakes to help maintain a driver-selectable distance. Withstop/start functionality, when the vehicle ahead of you comes to a complete stop the Equus will automatically come to a full stop. The Equus will thenautomatically begin to start moving again, if the vehicle ahead starts moving forward within three seconds.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration analysis estimates that passenger cars equipped with ESC may experience 35% fewersingle-vehicle crashes and 30% fewer single-vehicle fatalities. ESC sensors measure the difference between a driver's intended path-when a turn is less ormore than intended-and applies appropriate brake-force to individual wheels to help regain control. ESC also includes Traction Control System (TCS), whichreduces wheelspin when accelerating.
Blind Spot Detection (BSD)
Stop playing hide-and-seek on the highway. Expand your awareness with this essential safety technology that detects vehicles travelingin your blind spot. When an obstruction is detected, this system delivers anaudible and visual warning so that you're more fully informed about where othervehicles on the road are hiding.
Traction Control System (TCS)
By reducing wheel spin in various adverse tractionconditions, including inclement weather, Traction Control gives more stable andpredictable acceleration characteristics for a more confident, controlleddriving experience.
Electronic Brake-force Distribution(EBD) And Brake Assist (BA)
EBD balances braking forces at each wheel when the car isdynamically loaded. This helps the driver maintain confident control indifficult braking situations. In emergency braking situations, many drivers maynot apply sufficient braking force to achieve the shortest possible stopping distance. Brake Assist helps detect emergency braking and ensures the maximum braking force is immediately applied to minimize stopping distances.
